Our Strategy

Global Partnerships targets five critical innovation areas to counter poverty

Expanding access to microcredit isn't enough to help low-income people in the developing world break the cycle of poverty. That is why we seek out and invest in exceptional microfinance institutions and cooperatives—our partners—that combine microcredit with critical services that help their clients not just get by, but get ahead.

Through our partners, we focus our investments in five impact areas, listed below, that we believe are particularly effective in countering poverty. Our work is fueled by a unique social investment model that makes the best possible use of the resources entrusted to us by our mission-aligned donors and investors.

Where we invest for impact:

Preventive education and essential health care for women

Technical support and loans to help farmers boost their income

Microcredit plus strategic business education

Tools to help women develop as leaders and entrepreneurs

Access to technologies like solar panels that benefit people in poverty and the environment
