ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE: Dirección de Microfinanzas PRISMA is the credit program of the Asociación Benéfica PRISMA, a leading Peruvian development NGO. PRISMA started its microcredit activities in 1994 with a program aimed at strengthening food security. Today, PRISMA provides credit through village banks, solidarity groups and individual loans, and combines these loans with education in health, savings, empowerment and business development. PRISMA's clients are mainly poor women in rural and semi-urban areas in Peru.
