FUBODE

ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE: Fundación Boliviana para el Desarrollo (FUBODE) is a credit program focused on serving the beneficiaries of World Vision’s Area Development Projects (ADPs) in the central region of Bolivia. The organization has 12 branches operating in the central areas of Bolivia, in five of the country’s nine departments. FUBODE was founded by World Vision in 1997 with the goal of helping improve the socioeconomic conditions and the productivity of the neediest population living in the areas where the ADPs are located.

FUBODE offers microenterprise loans using both group and individual methods, with most of its focus on women. FUBODE's credit program also is complemented with an educational component, in which business and financial topics are discussed during the village bank meetings, as well as topics of self-esteem, emotional intelligence and leadership.
