ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE: Enlace started as a Catholic Relief Services (CRS) project in 1998 with the objective of consolidating into one entity the different microfinance programs supported by the Catholic Church in El Salvador. Four organizations merged to create the new organization, and Enlace began operations in the city of Apopa. It provides quality financial services to people living in poverty with more accessible pricing than their competitors, focusing on very small loans to the poorest segments of the population.

Enlace's operations are concentrated in the central area of the country, but the organization is expanding to other areas of the country as well.
