ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE: ASAPROSAR, located in Santa Ana, El Salvador, includes an eye clinic and microcredit services, as well as rural health, environmental, educational and children’s programs. Dr. Vicky Guzman founded the organization in 1972 to promote health consciousness among the Salvadoran poor. Global Partnerships has been working closely with ASAPROSAR since 1998 and focuses on the development of a sustainable microcredit program serving very poor people in remote rural areas.
