Expanding Opportunity
In recent years, Global Partnerships has increased our impact on people living in poverty in Latin America, through our social investment funding model and our focus on investing in high-impact microfinance partners that combine mission with a sustainable business model. Microfinance can dramatically improve the lives of borrowers. Increased household income, access to healthcare and education, and better living conditions are just a few of the ways in which microfinance and complimentary services is impacting the poor and underserved populations around the world.
Here are three ways we measure our success.
BORROWERS REACHED

Since 2006, we have steadily increased the number of borrowers we're reaching through our microfinance partners in Latin America, demonstrating their excellent performance and their commitment to serving people living in poverty.
MICROFINANCE PARTNERS

We serve an increasing number of select microfinance institutions in Latin America with affordable growth capital and technical assistance, helping them reach the most underserved segments of the population. We select these MFIs based on a number of criteria, including financial strength, competitiveness, and commitment to social impact.
CAPITAL DEDICATED TO MISSION
Global Partnerships is laying the foundation for even greater impact. We are exploring ways to help our partner microfinance institutions serve as distribution platforms for sustainable products and services that meet basic needs beyond microfinance, such as health services, business training, and agricultural assistance and support. Our first "beyond microfinance" project is a partnership with PATH and Pro Mujer to develop a model for health programming through microfinance in Latin America. Stay tuned!
