In rural Ecuador, María Amaguana and her daughter Marjori truly are the embodiment of hope.
For María, a single mother of six, hope began with small loans and business skills training from a GP partner to start a successful embroidery business and send her children to school.
At 14 years old, Marjori speaks Quichua (the native language of the region) as well as Spanish, and is learning English at school. She is well on her way to achieving a better future and plans to put her language skills to use and become a tour guide in her home country.
